Timber isn't really "manufactured," it is processed or milled. Raw logs are brought to a timber mill where they are usually first de-barked and then run though other machines that will either turn them into chips for making pulp or other prodducts, or run through a mill to create various sizes of lumber. The lumber is then typically dried in a kiln and sometimes treated with chemicals to preserve it.
