1. Why did France and Britain fight in the war?
In which war? There were many, many conflicts historically between England, and later Britain as a whole, and France.

If you mean why did they fight the American colonists, it was because they were being killed and displaced by a nation who saw the native Americans as being incapable of diplomacy, and basically took every chance they could to kill native Americans. This would also be why there were so many native Americans fighting on the royalist side during the American revolutionary war; under british rule, there would have at least been restrictions on the American ethnic cleansing.

Oh dear. Agreed. Great Britain was on the Allied side in both world wars from start to finish. In each war, America came in later, on the Allied side. Just to make sure - Germany was on the other side in both World Wars.
Cerainly in WW1 it was involved in the sense that it was a part of Arabia which was a protectorate of Great Britain.

The wars after that in which they fought together with the Brits were when they were doing United Nations military functions. They have not fought in any war because OF their desire to support Britain but because they are allies together in the United Nations.

Imperialism! France had colonies in North Africa and controlled Lebanon between World Wars I and II. England controlled Palestine between World Wars I and II. France and then Britain controlled Egypt for a century. Spain has outposts on the coast of Morocco. Italy controlled Lybia.
The colonies were providing raw materials and numerous finished goods. Britain needed the lumber, tobacco and other natural resources that were not available on the small islands of Great Britain. They also served as a tax base to help support the other wars Britain was fighting. newtest3
