President Roosevelt was the president during World War 2. He did not live to see the end of the war however. Vice President Truman became the President and he was president when the war ended and during the Korean War.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the president during World War 2 until he died close to the end of the war, and at the beginning of his fourth term. President Harry Truman was the president at the end of World War 2 and during the Korean War.
To avoid future Korean Wars; he had experienced WW2 and became president during the Korean War.
Well most notably the Korean War.
The next big war after the Korean War was the Vietnam War.

The Korean War started when President Harry S. Truman was in office. President Dwight D. Eisenhower took office near the end of the conflict.

President Roosevelt died in 1945, during World War 2. His vice president, Harry S. Truman resumed his office for the remainder of FDR's term.
Dwight D. Eisenhower negotiated a truce to end the Korean War (1953).
General Douglas Mcarthur
It wasn't a president, it was a general. The president fired the general and refused to authorize use of nuclear weapons.
Eisenhower was the one that made a campaign promise to find a way to end the Korean War if elected. He was actually successful in fulfilling this promise soon after he was elected.
