Some 1917 and all Walking Liberty halves dated 1918 and later have the mint mark at the 8:00 position on the back.

None = Philadelphia

S = San Francisco

D = Denver

All 1916 and some 1917 halves have the mint mark position below the words In God We Trust on the front.
