The only information I've been able to find so far about the CASU's is in the Navy history records at the following website: http://www.history.navy.mil/a-record/ww-ii/loc-ac/1943/sep43/28-9-43.pdf. This is the first time CASU 34 shows up, located in San Diego area. The unit was later moved up to Alameda, CA. Still later, the unit moved to Kwajalein and then to Parry Island. From this website you can also reach other dates and years. The website does not tell you anything specific about the CASU, only where it is located at the time.
Hi I just found my dads certificate of discharge from CASU 33. He was discharged on 1945 at N.A.A.S. Los Alamitos, California.
He enlisted in Hamlet, Indiana.
Vessels and stations served on: Indiannapolis, Ind. USNTS, Great Lakes, Ill
Rec Barracks, Shoemaker, Calif. CASU 33

Do you know what branch of service he was in ? If you can find his form DD214 , his selective service number should be on it. Back then , you SS# was not used for this purpose.Your chances increase if he was a Purple Heart receipient. Write to the Depart. of the pertinent service with all possible info.
