Kamikaze (Divine Wnd) attacks were launched against allied ships off the shores of Japan and Japanese held territories during WW2. Roughly 47 ships were sank, and around 300 damaged. Although Kamikaze attacks were only about 14% effective.
Suicide attacks made by Japanese planes - apex
The suicide pilots were known as the kamikaze (Japanese for divine wind). Many of these pilots had no training in using bombs or torpedoes, as armaments and capable combat pilots were in short supply. It was comparatively easier to dive into ships with a plane having only one large explosive.
The kamikaze was used by Japan because japan was losing the war and the kamikaze were their last hope.....Actually who said this other answer, you are wrong. Kamikae was used because if you were a japanese soldier, coming back alive to your home was dihonorble. So they woud show honor by comitting suicie nd bringning enemies down with them
If you are referring to WW2, then the US stopped using atomic bombs on Japan because Japan agreed to surrender. Had they not, the US had plans and production setup to drop a total of 23 atomic bombs on Japan in 1945.
