The supplies would be lost and it could be a turning point in the war
Later battles would have been bloodier.
By the time the D-Day invasion occurred, Adolf Hitler was becoming more and more unstable in his thoughts and actions. He had visible signs of Parkinson's, and has been posthumously diagnosed with schizophrenia, drug addiction, and manic depression. This was a psychotic man who had enormous power. He was actually very pleased with the (beginning) D-day invasion because, as he said "we could never have taken the British in their own country, but now, they have come to us!". Because the D-day invasion was a success for the Allied forces, Hitler realized that his troops were being over-run, and thus, began to realize that the war was coming to an end, and he was not the victor he thought he would be. The failure of D-day for the Allied forces would have meant an invasion of England, and possibly even America! There were U-boats that were approaching America, and Hitler and his scientists even had more advanced weapons that were in development to utilize. He also had recently come into possession of the American "mint" plates, which could have flooded America with counterfeit money, thereby destabilizing our entire economy, which would have been a disaster of epic proportions.
It avoided a land invasion of Japan which would have been extremely bloody with a high death toll for the attacking forces
If any of the beaches had been lost on D-Day the others could have supported them . If the whole invasion had been pushed back it would have taken at least 3 years to recover.

If there hadn't been a D-day, (the allied invasion of Normandy), the Russians would have liberated all of Europe on their own, (except Italy).
It is most likely that the allies would have suffered a huge blow because it was a major invasion force which included a good portion of the allies army. What would exactly happen though is hard to say, but it would have definetly been a huge set back if not cost the war for the allies.
The Germans may have invaded Britain in 1945 id D-Day hadn't happened.

A great deal of innocent people would not have died. an even greater number of innocent people would have died, probably including your fathers, grandfathers, and uncles who would have been sent from the European theater to the Pacific for the invasion of the Japanese home islands.
