world war one was fought with the help of Africans who were recruited to help their colonial masters.after the war African nationalism developed in the following ways below.

The war gave them a chance of seeing the white man defeated.but before the war the whites were considered super naturally spirits of the blacks so it gave no fear of the white man after them being defeated in the war and later Africans started accusing them of their rights hence growth of African nationalism after the world war. African nationalism grew up after the war in a way that they acquired skills of fighting using big guns which later some of them came back with and this fighting skills used for training their fellow brothers to help them in the a struggle of decolonization hence they got training from the war masters.

Africans also experienced the increased of demand for row material all over the pearl of Africa and later used it as an accusation of white exploiting their land resources later turned in to nationalistic reason the emergence of the UNO which replaced the inconsistent league of nation helped to give support to the Africans to decolonize the states under whites.supported them with guns food etc

The war also led to the emergency of USA and USSR who were seen new as super powers who started demanding for the decolonization of African states they went on helping the African states under colonialism by warning the leaders to decolonize immediately hence rising nationalistic feelings among Africans

Nationalism, a form of self rule and choice of governing style, swept Africa because most of the African nations were "owned and controlled by imperialistic nations" such as Britain, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, France and Denmark. The African nations revolted to gain their independence, esp. when they had been promised their independence if they fought in the war - which they did and did well. They did not get their promised independence so they revolted. Eventually they did gain their independence.
