Initially, like many nations: Cowardly, Backstabbing, Un-Gentlemanly, Un-Civilized, Piracy, Criminal, etc.
There had been serious discussions of hanging (or at least executing) captains of such vessels.

Similar remarks were made in Britain too, at first, but it did not take long for most large navies to realise they too would have to have submarines.
Not enough if you actually think this an issue in the sense of history. Or alternately, the answer is "who cares?". Do you think the French do? The Germans? Why should the Americans?
Blitzangriff, I think. Blitzkreig = lightning war
I can think of several wars. You need to give us a where, when, how, why, who question to get an answer.

He didn't want to motivate the Confederates to take to the hills and conduct guerrilla warfare.
I think it's unrestricted submarine warfare.
It was awesome.
I think it was the Americans because they killed Shepard but we will have to wait for modern warfare 3 to be shure.
The German idea of the usages of submarines was that they could use them to sink Allied Navy ships and sink Allied Ships which would of carried their resources e.g. Foods and Ammo. By this, Germany would destroyed the enemies supply lines and cause starvation and possible and German invasion, which in theory would of forced the Allies into submission.
A Confederate Submarine was first to sink an enemy Submarine, I think in the Civil War. It was called The CSS Huntley. Alternate answer: The CSS Hunley was a Confederate submarine in the US Civil War. It played a minor role in the war itself but it played a much larger role in illustrating the pros and cons of underwater warfare.
It may have something to do with his interest in warfare. He also invented a kind of submarine. Both of those would give an advantage over an earthbound enemy.
I think you refer to the battle for Monte Cassino. The crossing of the Rapido river was also a tough one, indeed all of the Italian peninsula was ideal in many ways for defensive warfare and the British & Americans, & others, had many difficulties in overcoming the German defenders.
This is an opinionated question...
The US could no longer remain neutral in WWI because of Germany's policy of unrestricted submarine warfare and the Zimmerman note. Also, the United States had economic and cultural ties to the allies.
i think you mean the 'periscope'.

A submarine.. I don't think that's a very funny joke. Is it a submarine?
