I guess you could say that Germany (the home nation for the Nazi Party) was the first country taken over by the Nazis. Next would come Austria in 1936 & Czechoslovakia in 1938 before the war began. Then with the start of the war: Poland in 1939. Other countries were defeated & conquered in 1940 & 1941.
Austria
germany wanted to take over poland
Technically, Hitler took back Austria first - they were annexed by Germany in 1938. In terms of invasion, however, Poland was the first country taken back. It was invaded on September 1st, 1939.
England and France did not wish to engage Germany in another war. Letting Germany take over a country or two seemed reasonable at the time to the leaders of France and Britain.
Hitler's plan was to take over Germany, which he basically succeeded in, and then expend Germany into Russia, so that his country would be twice as big. Afterwards, he was going to expand Russia and Germany into Poland, so to add more land again...In the end he thought that he could take over the entire world...which he obviously did not succeed in, that crazy bastard!

Hitler ruled the entire country of Germany and invaded 39 other countries.
The country of Germany was his start. He didn't want to just take over A country. He wanted to take the world over. His fanatacism blinded him from seeing that his goal was impossible.
