-Battle of Stalingrad - Bloodiest battle of History of Warfare, after this the USSR advanced towards Germany.

-Battle of the Bulge - Hitlers final gamble to push allies back but failed

-Battle of Berlin - Final Battle in Europe before Germany lost

-1st and 2nd Battle of El Alamein - Ending of Germany fighting in African campaign.

-D-Day- First Major allied Victory in the western front.

For the Allies, the worse battles were;

-Battle of Stalingrad - Despite winning the battle, the USSR lost 1.2 million men.

-Invasion of Poland - The "starting" of World War 2.

-Battle of France - At the end of this battle, Germany occupied, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France and Belgium.

- 900 Day siege of Leningrad - Also, despite winning million of people died, mostly civilians and a soviet division was captured due to advance encirclement.

- Operation Barbarossa - Despite failing Germany's plan to occupy Moscow, due to lost of early military encounters, they opened the gate for German army to advance.
