Yes, many. But not in an attack on anyplace; just for test, troop training, and propaganda purposes. These real live bombs were dropped from airplanes from 1946 through 1962 by various nations deliberately. In some training exercises the troops were required to march over Ground Zero within hours of the shot.
There were also several launched on missiles to explode in space (but these technically did not drop). One of these space nuclear test shots actually caused a manned Gemini space mission to be postponed several days out of fear of exposure to radiation from that bomb captured by the earth's magnetic field.
And this does not count all the tower, balloon, underwater, underground, surface, cratering, etc. test shots done from 1945 to the present.
Answer:
As far as dropping real live nuclear weapons there were 32 incidents (in Military speak "Broken Arrows") where nuclear weapons were dropped or lost by accident. Six have never been recovered. These include:
No nation dropped an atomic weapon during the cold war. The cold war is not the same as World War 2. Two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan by the US at the end of World War 2. The cold war is called 'cold' because it was not an actual armed conflict. It was a period marked by a conflict of ideologies, propaganda and fear.
the atomic bomb dropped in 1945. during cold war. how did it start the cold war? 1.It caused the arms race 2. Plus they threatened the Soviet Union. 3. They wanted to fight for super power (basically who ruled land air and sea inc outer space) This all lead to the cold war. Hope this helps.
The Atomic Bomb.
Communism verses the free world.
The atomic bomb was detonated in 1945.
If you are referring to the nuclear bomb, it was dropped over Japan in world war 2 and not the cold war. Those bombs were authorized by President Truman.
They started the cold war.

The first atomic bomb was engineered in WWII, not the Cold War. The Hydrogen Bomb was a Cold War Weapon.
To Kill People
yes
H-bomb
North Korea but they are building now.
They learned not to drop atomic bombs even through their silly nuclear arms race during the Cold War. Trust me no one wants to send off an atomic missile because a huge part of the world would be annihilated.
The US took over three years to go from concept of designing an atomic bomb to the actual production of three atomic bombs in World War 2. They started discussion in 1941 with scientists who had warned them Germany was building an atomic bomb. They began setting up a place for production in 1942. In August of 1945 the bombs were dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima in Japan. The atomic bombs were built by the thousands during the cold war. After the cold war, thousands were dismantled but there are still atomic missiles around world wide.See the link below.

The Atomic Bomb caused the cold war.
