The Battle of Midway, was the turning point in the the second World War, between the Japanese and American naval and air forces. It was a victory for America, with Japan never able to mount a substantial naval attack again. The term' axis' was given to Germany, Italy, and Japan during the European second World War. At Midway only the Americans and the Japanese were involved - and as Japan lost the battle, it was not an axis victory!
Decisive USN victory.

Victory at Sea - 1952 Midway Is East 1-4 was released on: USA: 23 November 1952
The results were devastatig. By the end of the Battle of Midway, the Japanese had lost four aircraft carriers, a cruiser, and 250 planes.
The Battle of Midway is by far in my opinion the most important in the Pacific. U.S. victory at Midway led to the destruction of the Japanese naval fleet.
