Yes, the United Kingdom possesses around 200 strategic nuclear weapons as a active nuclear deterrent. The warheads are stored at the Royal Naval Armaments Depot (RNAD) at Coulport on Loch Long, Argyll, Scotland. The warheads are fitted to American-made Trident II D5 submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM's). Each missile can carry a maximum of 12 warheads. They are then loaded aboard the UK's Vangaurd class ballistic missile submarines (SSBN's) in the Explosives Handling Jetty at RNAD Coulport before the submarine begins it's patrol. The UK operates 4 Vangaurd class submarines that can carry up to 16 Trident missiles each. They are unloaded back at RNAD Coulport after the submarines deployment and once again stored in the bases underground reinforced concrete bunkers. The weapons are routinely moved by road however for inspection and servicing to the Atomic Weapons Establishment's (AWE's) facilities at Aldermaston and Burghfield.
