Rationing affected everyone.
The coupons or stamps or rationing cards all varied according to the recipient of the ration card. Children each received their own card. They were able to get more milk, dairy products and meat than the adults could do. Cards for babies had more milk also. Each food item had their own squares or stamp locations according to the food item. See the link below to see what the rationing cards look like.
because of the rationing
In the UK, Ration Books wee issued by the Ministry of Food.
They were sparsely stocked due to rationing, which rested on cards which gave limited purchases for food and clothing.
During World War II, many supplies that we take for granted were in very short supply, mostly because they were needed by the military. Gasoline, tires, butter, and many other goods were not readily available. As a means of promoting "fairness" in the distribution of scarce supplies, a ration card system was imposed. Thus, ration cards are cards or stamps that allowed the government to ration out food and supplies to that card or stamp holder when they were in short supply.
the act of rationing
it was very hard and food rationing still went on.Adult had up to three children.
There were basically no baseball cards produced between 1941 and 1948 because of paper rationing due to WWII. Any cards that WERE produces were just premiums for another product, and basically added nothing to the cost of that product.
During the time of WW2 children ate basically the same sort of sweets as we eat now however they did not eat anywhere near as much of it as kids do today, because there was rationing. Sweet rationing ended several years after the end of WWII.
