1. Alexander the Great - A true legend that fought wars his way. He is called "the great" for a reason.
2. Tran Hung Dao - He made the worlds strongest and most feared army at the time, the Mongols his bitch, 3 different times.
3. Napolean Bonaparte - Gotta give it up for the short people. He didn't win every battle but he was bold and he had every country in Europe gunning for him at once. Nobody could have survived as long as he did with those odds.
4. David IV of Georgia - He probably fought and won one of the greatest uneven odds battles in history. His 55,000 man army against the Seljuks 600,000 man army. When it was all said and done over 70%, that's 420,000 Seljuks lay dead and the rest captured. Insane.
5. Adolph Hitler - Not really a true general per say, but he did lead the war ravaged and ragged nation of Germany one step away from world domination. If he hadn't hamstrung the Russians, we would all be speaking German right now.
6. Hannibal Barca - The man who crippled the Roman Empire. Nuff said.
7. The Desert Fox Erwin Rommel - Probably the greatest military mind of the 20th century. His tactics are still used and taught today. His penchant for winning battle after battle with inferior troops and resources made him a legend. Also, he was one of the only generals fighting for the Nazi's that did NOT commit any war crimes. He danced to his own drummer so to speak and the only reason Hitler kept him was that he won and won and won. Many say had he been Germany's main commander and decision maker, Germany would have won WWII.
8. Julius Caesar - He was a brilliant military mind even though many battles his troops outnumbered the enemy. When they didn't that is when he really showed his military prowess.
9. Georgy Zhukov - His list of wins in WWII against the Germans is impressive. Despite Stalin, he pretty much was able to keep the Germans from winning Russia. Probably the greatest military mind in the history of Russia.
10. George S. Patton - Another great general that for the most part was overshadowed by the sheer numbers in his forces. However, when he went into battle he had every possible scenario anticipated for that battle. If he started to lose ground on one side he always had a plan to shore it up. He was never outmaneuvered, out-though or ill prepared for any battle he participated in.
