The only way to make a homemade vaporizer (without a degree in electrical engineering and a hardware-store-full of supplies) is to locate an everyday lightbulb, a cheap pen (like a free one from a hotel), and the top of a soda bottle.

1. At the top of the lightbulb, there is a copper tab. Use scissors or a knife to remove this tab. Underneath is a small hole. Stick your sharp utensil into the hole and twist so the black material on the lightbulb breaks off.

2. Continue doing this until there is no longer any of that black stuff on it. There may be some glass underneath which will also require removal (by breaking it with your scissors/knife).

3. When a clear opening into the lightbulb has been created, It is time to put the top of the bottle on the open end of the lightbulb. Cut vertical strips up the bottle so that it can be fitted to the shaft of the lightbulb.

4. Using Duct Tape, fit the bottle on the lightbulb tightly.

5. Cut two small circular holes in the cap of the bottle. One of these holes will act as a carb so no further work will be done on it. For the other hole, you must get the pen.

6. With scissors, remove everything from the pen except for the outer tube itself. Insert this into the other hole and make it air tight.

Now you have a working vaporizer. You just grind up your weed and put it in the bottom of the lightbulb. Make sure it is evenly spread out. Then hold a lighter on the weed until smoke starts to swirl up inside. During this time, you must hold your finger over the carb and have the pen in your mouth. Once the smoke has begun to swirl up, suck it in through the pen. DO NOT STOP LIGHTING THE WEED IF YOU WANT A BIG HIT! Because it will stop releasing the THC immediately. Make sure to shake around the weed a little in between hits to prevent torching it.

Does smoking marijuana out of a vaporizer still get you high?

Yes is the short answer. Your depends on what temp the vaporizer is set at. The lower temp will produce vapor that will stimulate hunger. The higher temp vapor smoke will help with pain. I personally set mine to 500 degrees F. I have a convection vaporizer not the traditional wood vaporizer.
