Starting on the upper right back (wisdom tooth) that is number one, then tooth in front is number two, and going all the way around, the last molar in the back left is number 16, then drop down to bottom left in very back, (wisdom tooth) is 17, then come around to front, then very back right side (wisdom tooth) is 32. The upper right central would be tooth number 8,then just next to it 9. (Your two front teeth) hope this helps I was an RDA and one of the worlds smartest Endodontist/periodontists' assistant in the 70s and 80's. Dr. SANFORD S. there are 4 quardrants of the mouth, 1, 2 , 3, 4. The upper right corner is 1, the upper left is 2, bottom left is 3, and the bottom right is 4. so in quadrant one, the first tooth is 11(one one), then 12(one two), then 13(one three) etc this goes to 18(one eight). 11 starts from the front tooth. then you go to quad 2, 21(two one), 22(two two) etc for each quarant.
Tooth number one is the wisdom tooth in the back of your upper jaw on the right side. They then count across the upper jaw from right to left, ending with the wisdom tooth on the upper left which is number 16.
Then the numbering starts with the wisdom tooth on the left side of the lower jaw directly below number 16. That is number 17. They then count across the lower jaw from left to right, ending with the wisdom tooth on the lower right, which is number 32 and is directly below number 1.

Dentist's take X-ray's of your mouth, and based on these X-ray's they can pin point exactly where your problems are. There are 5 surfaces on a tooth, and one or more can be affected by a cavity. That is why it is very important to write down on a dental chart where the cavities are located on each tooth, and all dentists generally do it.

Dentists and orthodontists count differently, which is confusing to us humans. Canines are '3' to the dentist. They are 6 and 11 to the orthodontist, I think. So if people's third tooth is the canine, is a dog's 3rd tooth a 'human'?
Dentists have a deal worked out with the tooth fairy.
it depends on the type of the surgery. if it is a wisdom teeth removal then they will To remove the wisdom tooth, your dentist will open up the gum tissue over the tooth and take out any bone that is covering the tooth. He or she will separate the tissue connecting the tooth to the bone and then remove the tooth. Sometimes the dentist will cut the tooth into smaller pieces to make it easier to remove.
a tooth extractor is basically a gadget that dentists use to remove you tooth/teeth... some of my friends got there teeth extracted and they said it hurts really bad!
