most surgical procedures will require sutures ( stitches) These are removed after a short period of time when the wound has closed sufficiently. Some procedures, classed still as operations, may not require sutures. Your Surgeon will be able to discuss the sutures with you and the likely time they will need to remain in place after the operation.
