A tamper switch (in a burglar alarm system for example) is designed to stop un-authorised access to the inside of the control panel.

It usually takes the form of a small micro-switch that activated when the cover is opened. Even if the alarm has been de-activated (by entering the correct code) the anti-tamper circuit is still active so long as there is power to the system. Cutting the lead to the external sounder, or the mains lead doesn't stop it either - there is usually an internal sounder, and a back-up battery.

Difference between butterfly valve and gate valve?

Butterfly valve refers to a kind of valve whose closing part (butterfly plate) is a disc, which rotates around the valve shaft to achieve opening and closing. It mainly plays a role of cutting off and throttling on the pipeline. The butterfly valve opening and closing part is a disc-shaped butterfly plate, which rotates around its own axis in the valve body to achieve the purpose of opening and closing or adjustment. The butterfly valve is usually 90° from fully open to fully closed. The butterfly valve is simple in structure, small in size and light in weight, and consists of only a few parts. Moreover, it can be opened and closed quickly by rotating 90°, and the operation is simple. The opening and closing part of the gate valve is a gate. The movement direction of the gate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid. The gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed, and cannot be adjusted or throttled. The gate has two sealing surfaces. The advantages of the gate valve: small fluid resistance, less effort to open and close, no restriction on the flow of the medium, no turbulence, no pressure reduction
