In very crude terms, rotary motion is round & round, reciprocating motion is back & forth. A piston engine has both kinds of motion. The crankshaft displays rotary motion, the pistons display reciprocating motion. The camshaft displays rotary motion, the valves display reciprocating motion. Out on the suspension, the wheels display rotary motion and the shock absorbers display reciprocating motion. (One might say the shocks don't display "true" reciprocating motion because they're not CONSTANTLY in motion, but that one drives on better roads than they have here!)
Type your answer here...When the motion between the elements, forming a pair is such that the constrained motion is not completed by itself, but by some other means, then the motion is said to be successfully constrained motion
The Cam
The crankshaft and connecting rod (or piston rod).
The scotch yoke is a mechanism that reciprocates motion and converts the horizontal motion of a bar that is constantly sliding into a rotational motion. This device is commonly used to control valve actuators that can be found in gas pipelines.
Some examples of parallel motion linkages include the Scott Russell linkage, the Peaucellier-Lipkin linkage, and the Watt parallel motion linkage. These linkages are commonly used in mechanical systems to ensure that two points move in parallel to each other.
A linkage industry is one whose products are needed in another industry. An example is agriculture which can be linked to the food industry.
Inversion of a kinematic linkage or mechanism is observing the motion of the members of the mechanism with fixing different links as reference frame. Each time when a different link is chose as the frame link the mechanism shows different characteristics of the motion.

Longitudinal waves occur where the motion of the medium is parallel to the waves.
amplitude Longitudinal waves occurs when the motion of the medium. This is parallel to the direction of the wave.

Household objects such as scissors, retractable pens, and folding chairs use linkage mechanisms. These mechanisms help in converting one type of motion into another, such as translating rotary motion to linear motion or vice versa, to perform specific functions efficiently.
A mechanical wave can displace its medium in a longitudinal direction, where the particles of the medium move parallel to the direction of the wave propagation, or in a transverse direction, where the particles move perpendicular to the wave's direction.
False. Consider a car moving on the road, along the earth's surface. That is considered to be Vx or Horizontal motion or velocity. If the car were to move perpendicular to the earth's surface that would be Vy or Vertical motion and velocity.
