At the simplest level, mathematics, sometimes called "pure mathematics" is the science of solving problems to obtain an answer. Applied mathematics is the science of solving problems in order to discover answers to problems outside of mathematics, such as within physics or economics.
At the simple level: Arithmetic. More complex level: Number theory. But NOT numerology which is not a science but superstition.
In year eight, the government expects pupils to be a level 5a at English, Maths and Science. The exceptional pupils should be at a level 6b for English, a 7 at science and a 7/8 for maths. Hope this helps.

This is usually a degree where science is applied to everyday life (thus the name!). it's usually a degree where the person takes hard to understand concepts and theory's and uses them at a useful level. While i don't think there is a degree specifically in applied science, degrees like engineering and some physics are examples of applied science.

I would recommend taking Computer Science and Math at a high-school level.
It depends on what level of accounting you are currently at. If you have no accounting history so far id suggest taking an online accountting course through your local community college. Accounting 101 is pretty much the same throughout the country and is offered online through many schools.
