∙ 13y agoThere are three individuals named Azariah mentioned in the Bible. One is a son of Nathan and a descendant of King David. The second Azariah is a priest who helped King Uzziah in the Old Testament. The third Azariah is one of the three companions of Daniel who were thrown into the fiery furnace in the book of Daniel.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, are mentioned in the Book of Daniel(Daniel 1:7) They were the Babylonian names assigned to the Hebrew captives, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.

Well, despite the fact that the catholic organisation tortured and murdered those who attempted ( and most who succeeded ) in translating the Bible into the "common" language, it was John Wyclif in the 1300's. Even today ( well, as recently as around 1986 ) the roman catholic law states that any Bible published that is not approved by the vatican is condemned. It is thanks to this man, among a few others that we know the truth through the Word of God today.
