The Bible says:
"Happy is the man that has found wisdom, and the man that gets discernment" - Proverbs 3:13
So we will find happiness if we search and find understanding.
But from who?
"For Jehovah [GOD] himself gives wisdom; out of his mouth there are knowledge and discernment" - Proverbs 2:6
So if we seek understanding from God, He will be our source of happiness.
In what way?
"Happy is the man who is guided by you, O Jah, and to whom you give teaching out of your law" - Psalms 94:12
"He that is showing insight in a matter will find good, and happy is he that is trusting in Jehovah" - Proverbs 16:20
So by trusting in our Maker, Almighty God himself, and observing his Word the Bible, than the knowledge we gain from it will give us contentment, because we are putting it to use by applying it in our daily lives.
"I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. O if only you would actually pay attention to my commandments! Then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea" - Isaiah 48:17,18
So in effect, true happiness comes from learning about our Maker. By studying his word the bible where we can learn his Will and Purposes for us and the earth (Psalms 37: 10, 11) and what he requires of us (Ecclesiasties 12:13)
"This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ" - John 17:3
