Heh heh genre is an odd way to describe a book of The Bible. But for Matthew, I'd probably say drama... Most of the Bible's a drama, though. ;)
One perspective:The New Testament gospels are unique, and really can't be pigeon-holed into a specific literary genre. They combine elements of biography, essay, historical narrative, character study and persuasive writing, and could rightfully be considered a genre unto themselves.Wiki User
