∙ 13y agoYour set is uncirculated but not proof. Proof coins are specially-struck with a mirrorlike finish, and are made only at the San Francisco Mint. The P and D sets are taken from normal circulation strikes. As of 12/2010 its value is about $8.

∙ 13y agoThere were four types of United States Mint Proof Sets produced in 1992. The normal 1992-S Proof Set is worth approximately $6-$8. The Prestige set (with Olympic half and dollar) is worth approximately $70-$90. The regular Silver set is worth approximately $10-$15. The Silver Premier Set is worth approximately $10-$16.
In circulated condition, face value only.
1964 proof Kennedy halves are 90% silver, 68, 69, 70 proofs are 40%. The 3-piece Bicentennial silver proof & silver mint sets are 40% and 1992 to date silver sets are 90%.
If you mean a 1988 Silver Eagle only Proof and bullion coins were struck in that year. From 1986 to 1992, proof Silver Eagle coins were minted at San Francisco and these coins bear the "S" mintmark and have a current retail value of $40.00. Bullion Silver Eagle coins dated 1988 were also struck at San Francisco but do not have mintmarks, the value of these coins depends on the spot price of silver at time of sale. As of today 3-27-11 it's about $37.32
9 BILLION (Excluding "Proof" coins) 4.6 are from the Philadelphia Mint. 4.4 are from the Denver Mint.

Please check your pocket change. About ELEVEN BILLION were made in 1992 so unless yours is a proof (1992-S) or uncirculated, it's worth exactly one cent.
The 1992 XXV OLYMPIAD halves were struck as Proof & Uncirculated. Both coins are made from copper-nickel. The uncirculated coin (D mintmark) is valued at $5.00. The "S" mintmarked proof coin is $6.00.
A British 1992 Sovereign (Proof FDC), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £280 GBP. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation.
