The word whiz has its roots in WW2. It is a ccombination of the words Versuchskonstruktion, meaning prototype, and Wehrmacht, meaning armed forces. After the construction of the V1 missile, Hitler commissioned the creation of the V2 missile, a warhead with 8x the destructive force of the V1. British double agent James Bond managed to infiltrate the facility by surgically replacing his face with that of German Kapitänleutnant, or naval Lieutenant, Hanz Von Duflendokcht he had recently killed. He infiltrated the barracks through the sewage system and hid in the duct work feeding of garbage for 4 months while he observed the creation of the missile. Having not previously studied German, he accidentally refers to the missle as Whizmacht, and thinking it was a joke he was nicknamed Whiz. Nobody thought it was funny. After destroying the silo and escaping the facility managing to kill every single German at the base, the nickname stuck.
