It depends on the coin's date.
1. Philadelphia only started to use the P mint mark on dimes in 1980. Any dime minted in Philadelphia between 1965 and 1979 won't have a mint mark and is only worth ten cents.
2. Dimes minted in 1964 and earlier had the mint mark on the back, not the front, but again, Philadelphia didn't use a mint mark. These dimes were 90% silver so they're worth at least $1.40 for their silver value, but may be worth more to a collector.
3. The mint mark on dimes dated 1968 and later is abovethe date, not below.
A dime is worth 10 pennies. A dime is worth 1/10 of a dollar.
A US dime is worth either:ten penniestwo nickles
At least $2.35. I can't give a better estimate unless I know much more about your coins. The date is necessary and the mint mark would be helpful as well.
Dimes were never made of gold. For one thing, they'd be worth a lot more than 10 cents! Your coin has either been plated for use in jewelry or exposed to something (heat, a chemical) that changed its color. If the date is 1965 or later, it's only worth a dime. If the date is earlier, it's at least worth about $1 for the silver that underlies whatever is on its surface.
