When speaking with regards to his position, relation & deity, I may be off by a few, but I've found (to include the book of Revelation) 27 instances of Jesus using "I am":
"I am" is written many times, incidentally, throughout The Bible; the first instance in Gen.15:1 "...Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield...". This was the One who would later be born in the flesh, Jesus Christ [see John 1:3 & 14].
This type of "I am" is uttered extensively by "the WORD, Jesus Christ" hundreds of times... as well as by other folks featured and speaking throughout.
But FOUR times comes to mind when Jesus uttered those words as His name. The first three were repeated when Moses inquired as to the identity of the Voice projecting from the "burning bush," who was recruiting him for a monumental task:
"And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM [that's two]: and He said, Thus shalt you say unto the children of Israel, I AM [that's three] hath sent you." (Ex.3:14)
The fourth time is in the New Testament, when Jesus revealed His identity to a group of Jews "who believed on Him" [verses 30-31]. But, when they heard Him "claim to be Abraham's God" [because He was; and is]... their "minds were blown" at His apparent blasphemy. These Jews knew Moses works; and knew the identity of "I AM." But, they abruptly stopped believing in Jesus... and tried to kill Him:
"...Verily, verily [truly, truly], I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM [that's four]. Then took they up stones to cast at Him: but Jesus hid Himself, and went out of the Temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by." (John 8:58-59)
