In the King James version
the word - hell - appears 54 times
However its not the number of times the word appears that is important its the meaning of the word which is important. Most people think that when you die in the flesh you go through judgement and either go to heaven or are cast into a place called hell which is an everlasting burning underworld which Satan rules. That is simply not written anywhere in our Fathers word.
The real truth is Judgement does not actually occur until after the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ were everyone will be taught the truth while Satan is locked away in the pit. Afterword, Satan is released to tempt all those who have been taught the truth. After that comes judgement where each individual is judged and either makes it and moves to eternal life in the 3rd earth age or they are cast into the lake of fire and their soul destroyed as if they never existed. That is a condensed version of Revelation chapter 20.
Remember that prior to Christ when men were under the law and the priests, Satan had control over many who died, who's souls he held, that is defined in 1 Peter 3:9 but the Greek word Prison (5438) is used and not the word Hell. Christ went to those souls held in prison during his three days in the tomb and preached the gospel to them. Many believed and were released.
