How is The Bible divided?

The 66 books of The Bible are divided according to subject matter. The Bible is not arranged chronologically (in the order in which it was written). There are two major divisions, and several divisions after that. The two major divisions are the Old and New Testament. The Old Testament are all the books that were written before Christ was born, and the New Testament are all the books that were written after Christ was born. Now within those two divisions, are several more divisions. In order, they are as follows: OLD TESTAMENT (39 books) The 5 Books of the LAW: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy The 12 Books of HISTORY: Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 & 2 Samuel, 1 & 2 Kings, 1 & 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther The 5 Books of POETRY: Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon The 5 Books of the MAJOR PROPHETS: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel The 12 Books of the MINOR PROPEHTS: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi NEW TESTAMENT (27 books) The 4 Books called the GOSPELS (The four books covering the life of Christ): Matthew, Mark, Luke, John One Book of HISTORY: The Acts of the Apostles (shortened by some to ACTS) The 13 Pauline Epistles (letters written by Paul) to the Gentile (non-Jew) churches: Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon The 8 Jewish-Christian Epistles (letters by several different authors to the Jewish Christians): Hebrews (Some believe this book was also written by Paul, but since it is specifically to the Jews, it is included in this section), James, 1 & 2 Peter, 1, 2, & 3 John, and Jude One Book of Prophecy: Revelation
