∙ 10y agoOn the back there should be an alarm set knob (the one with the picture of a bell). On the face of the clock there should be a small, red, short, extra "hand" that doesn't move with the time; that's the alarm setting. Holding the face towards you, turn the alarm knob on the back until the alarm hand points to the time you want the alarm to go off, based on where the hour hand would be (remembering that the hour hand of an analog clock moves slowly between the numbers of this and the next hour, so 6:30 would be halfway between the 6 and the 7). Then there must be a way to turn on/off the alarm. Set this to on before you go to bed at night. In the morning when you wake up you will set this to off to stop the alarm. Don't turn it back on until before you go to bed, or else it will go off at the PM, not the AM, version of the alarm time.

To turn off the alarm on a Sharp atomic clock, locate the alarm switch on the back or side of the clock and set it to the off position. Depending on the model, you may need to press a specific button or sequence to deactivate the alarm. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions.

As long as the boombox you have is equipped with this feature, you can set it up. Panasonic, Sharp mini Systems, Sony and GPX are just a few brands that offer this feature in their boomboxes.
The Sharp Atomic Clock SPC900 does not display the outdoor temperature. It only displays the time and date received from the atomic signal.
Push the Time button once. This will change the Month/Day window to Alarm 1. Push the up button until the desired time zone is reached. Push the Time button twice more to return back to Month/Day display.

I have called HP, Canon, Brother, and SHarp and have not been able to find a fax machine that has an "out of paper" alarm. If you find one, let me know.
