Before going to the timeshare presentation, print out few EBay auctions where the same timeshare is sold for $1. Pretty much all of them have market value of $1 with very few exceptions (then market value may go as high as $2000).

Bring EBay printouts, and tell them that this is what the market price is, and you are willing to buy for this price ($1). They will never sell it to you for $1. They may get mad. I saw one slamming doors and hitting his office table. But this quickly wears off and they will let you go quick.
