Good manners are the grease that make the wheels of human interaction run smoothly in any and all situations. I was taught Manners are most important for use with people you don't know or don't like.

In the case of someone you don't know, good manners enable you to interact easily, confidently and correctly until such time as you do know them well enough to be comfortable in your interactions. Good manners will get you through a blind date or tea with the queen, depending on what you need.

In the case of someone you don't like, manners allow you to interact with that person in a neutral and direct manner without having your personal feeling colour the situation. This can be one of the biggest assets of life.

Good manners are equally important behavior toward everyone, including your family.

If you are polite and have manners people will respect you. If you are a jerk and are rude people will not respect you. You need to have confidence and be able to speak your thoughts to others. Manners are important. Think about it, if your boss was not polite and rude, would you respect him as much as you do now. If you have good manners you will probably attract nice, polite people, but if you have bad manners you will probably attract rude, not-so-nice people. How you act can make all the difference in certain situations.

Well, manners are important because they reflect your background.

I was brought up believing that manners are important as the "grease" that makes the wheels of human interaction turn smoothly.

I was also taught that manners are especially important for people you don't know or don't like.

- For people you don't know, manners and the social "niceties" reduce the awkwardness of not knowing someone. With correct manners, you could have tea with the Queen of England, or the new couple in your neighborhood with equal comfort.

- For people you don't like, impeccable manners allow you to interact, without appearing rude.

Manners are very important to those around you. It shows that you have class and respect for others. Many jobs love when employees have good manners. This includes respectful communication (yes sir, no sir), good tables manners, and wearing appropriate attire.

Manners doesn't really deal with religion. It is a part of the human characterisitcs. Everyone either has good or bad manners. Having manners will let people respect you. They will be kind towards you and they won't hesitate to talk or be your friend. A person with good manners is honored everywhere while a person with bad manners is spoken about badly. A person with bad manners will have people treat him as if he is a piece of 'trash' that they won't even bother to look at. They'll think that your parents didn't bring you up. Also, the Prophet pbuh had mashallah wonderful manners. The Prophet pbuh is the example to all Muslims. We all are supposed to have good manners. It will help take you far in life.

If you are well-mannered, people will respect you. If you are ill-mannered, they will treat you as a child. Simple as that.
