I believe the reason is because it makes their title sound more professional sorta like how janitors are called environmental engineers. Political correctness at work!

First I would say being able to manage the people who work under you, and how you dictate the work, treating all of them the same, not showing a favorite. Act professional, and dress professional . Say please and thank you, and I appreciate that. everyone is human, showing you are so important makes you look like a fool, do not discipline an employee in front of others or the public. do not try to be a close friend, keep your distance, you are the boss. being able to constantly getting interrupted at times and keeping your cool. Do not ask your secretary to get you coffee, is your arm broke, if they like to get you coffee that OK, but don't expect it everyday, and once in awhile get your secretary a cup of coffee and a donut or yogurt. Its nice to be thought of. remember these things because someday you may be working for them, or you will need them for a reference, maybe not now, but 5-10 yrs from now. You never know what cards will get dealt in the future. do not panic. My hardest part was dealing with employees and co workers, after 5 yrs i had to hang it up, some can stick with it, some cannot.
The old word is 'Manageress' but that is now considered a diminutive and a woman manager is just called a Manager.
Back in the day, the department was called "Personnel Department" NOW it is called "Human Resources Department". ....because we're just another "resource" to be used up by the company
Strategic analysis is about looking at what is happening outside your organisation now and in the future. It asks two questions: * How might what's happening affect you? * What would be your response to likely changes? It's called strategic because it's high level, about the longer term, and about your whole organisation. It's called analysis because it's about breaking something that's big and complex down into more manageable chunks.
