When a dog has rabies they FOAM FROM THE MOUTH, not vomit! Your dog may be on a diet it's digestive system can't handle or, there could be a problem in the digestive system. Many dogs (like cats) will eat grass when they aren't feeling well and will vomit either yellow acidic or white foam. In this case it's best to let your vet take a look at your pet to be sure it doesn't have a twisted bowel or some other digestive problems.
Good luck!
He most likely has something small (maybe even tiny) stuck in his throat. That white foam is mostly just saliva, and the gagging is all he can do to try to clear the irritant. (Dogs lack the physical mechanism to "clear their throat" the way people do.)
The most common cause of this are blades of grass or something similar, which can cling to the inner lining of their throat. It may seem a bit alarming, but it's normal and harmless unlessit goes on for an extended period of time. If that's the case, you should contact a vet.
you should REALLY take it to the vet because it sounds like it has rabies. and it will need to be checked and given shots.
i know this because i am a I work for a vet and open the dogs mouth and check to see if anything is lodged in its mouth or throat, dogs will get things lodged up between there teeth occasionally- sticks, bones- but like the vet says take it to the doc, it wouldn't hurt to look in the dogs mouth because those can be signs of something stuck and choking.
White foam around the mouth and nose of a dog could be from dehydration or nausea. It is best to consult a veterinarian.

Your Dog probably just has a tummy ache, dogs do this time to time, might have gotten a bug a rock or ate grass. if it was rabies you would have known well before this as your dog would have gotten aggressive white foam is one of the very last symptoms of rabies.

The best thing to do for your dog is to take him or her in to be checked out by your Veterinarian. Is your dog gagging because there is a foreign object caught in its throat or has kennel cough or is sick with some other type of illness causing nausea or what? So it is best to get your dog in asap to be checked out by a Veterinarian
