Yes, but they don't really use them for fighting or protecting themselves. They use them for hunting, but basically it's their incredible speed that helps them. Their teeth may be sharp, but not sharp enough to kill a whole pack of hyenas. But, their speed is what helps get them out of trouble.

They use their teeth to clamp down on their prey like alligators do. Although their jaws are not as strong as an alligator, it is sufficient enought to latch on to their prey so that they can bring their prey down.
