They don't. In regards to a house cat that begs affection from its "owner", consider sensory deprivation. In the wild, and house cats are not far descended from their wilder counterparts, cats would cover miles of territory and their day would be filled with hunting, chasing, climbing, territory displays, interactions with other animals, etc. In a house, all of that natural behavior is taken away. Imagine your life if you had to live the rest of it ONLY in your house. You would go insane. And so do cats if they don't get enough stimulation. Their need for affection and play (you remember that 4 am gallop through every room in the house at full speed?) is because their natural behaviors have been taken away from them.
My cats show their affection when they rub up against my leg
Cats may wink as a sign of trust, communication, or relaxation. It can also be a way for them to show affection or playfulness towards their owners or other cats.
In a way yes they do. They show affection and expect to receive affection. Why they are ignored, you will be ignored.
Yes, cats do also lick for kisses too just like dogs do. I have 3 cats and they always show me affection when I return home. They do it to each other to affection as well its not just to stay nice and groomed!
There is no reason why a pregnant women should avoid cats. Cats are very loving and affection usually.
Certainly. Dogs can too. Even cats.
Cats may lick their owners as a sign of affection or to groom themselves. It is also a way for them to show trust and establish a bond with their human companions.
A cat might lick a dog out of affection. Cats often lick each other both to clean hard to reach spots, and as a kind of social bonding. A cat that has been raised with dogs might lick a dog for the same reasons.
Many men can't understand that we need affection because they don't feel the need for it themselves.
Cats do indeed love. Perhaps not on the level of humans but they do show affection. Shows of affection are things like purring when you or something else they love is near, attempting to rub against you or your other pets and trying to groom you. - Astraea Ann
If you mean rub heads, it's a way of showing affection or a need for attention.
All cats are different with different habits but when cats are happy there tail is a little bent at the top. If it is straight, the cat may not be happy. If a cat sprays somewhere not in the litter box he is marking there territory. Purring is a sign of affection too. If he scratches you it is also a sign of affection. Let your cats run around and get some exercise. If your cat is sleeping it is wise not to wake it up, cats need at least 16 hours of sleep. Do not overfeed your cat, he will get fat and lazy it could hurt them inside, Cats are always wanting more food if you didn't give them enough then make sure you give them the appropriate amount.
