They all need forms of nourishment to suvive.
SIMILARITIES. Birds, reptiles, and mammals are all a part of the animal kingdom! (OH MY GOSH!) They all need the same things- food, water, vitamins, nutrients, and things of the such. They are all multi-cellular, eukaryotic organisms. They all have the ability to mate and raise/have offspring. These three also all have similar body parts, and body functions. DIFFERENCES. Mammals give birth to live offspring- birds and some reptiles don't and lay eggs. Birds have the ability of flight- mammals and most reptiles do not. Reptiles are covered in scales or some other form of rough 'coat'- birds have feathers (though some like the Cassowary have some rough and slightly scaly napes and such), and mammals have fur and things of the such. Reptiles and most birds are warm blooded- mammals are cold blooded. Hope it helped! :D ~AP Wulf
Mammals maintain a higher body temperature. In order to do so, they require more energy and that requires more oxygen.
fly to and from the island while mammals need would need a land route or be taken by boat.
Because they can generate their own body heat - reptiles cannot and need a warm environment
Because reptiles and amphibians are cold-blooded and hibernate during winter. This means they respire very slow and become sluggish. When they hibernate they basically become uncounscious. Mammals on the other hand, are warm-blooded. This means they have a constant body temperature. During winter they need more food to burn for respiration and therefore are more active because they search for food all the time.
For a fabulous answer, read just the first paragraph or two of each of the articles linked below. You'll have all the information you need.
Apart from moving about, replacing worn-out cells and such, mammals are warm-blooded, and need to spend a fair bit of effort on keeping their body temperature up. This in particular makes mammals need more food than reptiles for instance.
Mammals, birds and reptiles are fully adapted to life on land. Fish live in water and amphibians start their life in water, then live on land.
earthworms and birds are not equipped to chew food
Yes, mammals have a 4chambered heart, while reptiles only have a 3chambered heart.
