It isn't the entire breed of min pin that is mean, I've personally dealt with many that have very positive temperaments. Though min pins do exhibit what can be called "Defensive" attitudes. Unfortunately, many people don't fully understand how to quell bad habits in animals, and wind up almost "encouraging" the behavior by not completely addressing it, allowing it to become worse and worse, until it's reached an extreme. Temperaments of a dog truly depend on 1, [2 if it was rescued from a shelter]
1) The owner. How the dog is treated, how it's socialized with other dogs, and how well the owner is at training are all variables that go into a dog's attitude.
2) The dog's past. Abused and/or abandoned dogs often have a "chip" on their shoulder, regardless of how good the new owners are. I personally rescued a dog from a shelter, [Boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix] Who was abandoned and she, even to this day, can be very hesitant in certain situations.
So it all depends!
You don't the vet does and the earlier the better.
They look like dogs with tails!
Being miniature Dobermans, which are very active and athletic dogs, they can be extremely playful.
Min Pins are very curious dogs, which comes from their breeding as ratters - they love to hunt and explore. The answer is you can NEVER trust a min pin and need to ensure they are always in a secure area.
Min Pins go into heat twice a year. The heat will last between 2 and 4 weeks, 3 weeks being the average. Min Pins bleed very little, but covering the sofa and the beds with sheets is recommended, sofas can be hard to fit into the washing machine! Min Pins will mate with large dogs, and this can be a problem, as the puppies can develop to be too large for her to birth. It is better to keep the female indoors, and protected from wandering, horny males. Her scent can be picked up 2 miles away! Lizzard
Min Pins sometimes shake when they are excited. But they also shake when they are cold or hyper. If they do it constantly and get walks and are warm then you should probably see the vet.
min means whoمن
remove it clean pins and replace them if needed turn car in on position wait 5 min reinstall.
these two pins are biasing pins of ICs.
It's possible. But very unlikely. Min Pins usually have more than one pup.
Not exactly. However they have a dueclaw. Also, if you look on the back of the leg, there is a pad on the wrist known as the carple pad.
Both! I have a 9-year-old min pin... he's a couch potato while indoors and an explorer while outside. Min Pins are very curious, social dogs. They will be your neighborhood watch, if given access to a window; they will be the escape artist you never knew existed, they love to be chased and mine thinks that running away is a great game. They are great cuddle-rs too! Since min pins are naturally lean with short hair, its important to keep them in a relatively mild climate. If you have a well-fenced yard, most min pins can be left alone to explorer the yard all day. I don't recommend leaving a min pin inside the house by themselves too long, the will get into everything within reach!! Mine went through the dirty clothes basket and ate up everyone's underwear and socks :( All in all, i wouldn't trade my min pin for anything in the world. (another answer) So true, but I wouldn't leave him outdoors in the winter. Their short hair and small body size mean they could not stay warm enough.
