That's a hard question. The only place in the world that you can find a dingo. Is Western Australia and the Northern Territory (Which are both states of Australia).
Also Queensland, expect northern NSW, northern South Austrlia and West Australia.
However the the long story is that thousands of years ago in Asia ancient man made friends with the asiatic wolf. The people then migrated down through Indonesia and then down to Papua New Guinea where they settled. However the date of this great migration is unknown and is only a thiery. But after man settled in Puapa New Guinea some left for new land and this pattern is how man spread from contnent to contenent. But once man settled in Australia they adapted to the climate and became the aboriginals, but keep in mind that they brought their canine companions with them. The asiatic wolf then adapted to the climate and turn into the dingo.

No, dingos will not harm humans, as they are extremely shy, only those few dingos (mainly on Fraser Island) who have been socialized by people will come close to humans. The rangers say they are being dangerous, but in fact they are curious. Though like any other canine, dingos may harm a person if threatened or pressured etc.
