Whaling is banned by the Antarctic Treaty, south of 60 degrees S. This includes the Southern Ocean that surrounds Antarctica.
there are issues in Antarctica such as global warming - the ice will melt. or that the Japanese whaling is hurting the animals that live there, and the tourists that go there to research.
Antarctica is not known for plant life, whatever the season.
well, if you are wealthy you can chase whaling boats away like on ''whale wars'' or their are many organazations you can donate time/money to stop whale hunting.
The antarctic treaty, which now has 46 nations in it, has 2 main organisations that deal with whaling. Although the treaty do address the Japanese whaling, the main 2 organisations are Greenpeace and Sea Sheperd. These 2 organisations aim to fight the whaling in Antarctica going to many extents. Sorry I didn't help but if you can get your hands on a book name "Oxford Big Ideas Humanities 2" it has a whole chapter on Antarctica and also about the treaty.
