Yorkshire Terrier were bred to kill rats. That's how they got their terrier in their name, because the word terrier, means rat hunters. They where also about 14 pound. The rich woman fell in love with them and they started breeding them smalls so they could carry them. Now yorkies are about 5-12 pounds.
