There are many different species of bears that hibernate. These include the American black bear, Newfoundland black bear, cinnamon bear, brown bear, grizzly bear, Himalayan brown bear, Syrian brown bear, Asian black bear, and the Formosan black bear.
There is no bear that truly hibernates. It is a common misconception that bears hibernate during the winter. While bears tend to slow down during the winter, they are not true hibernators. Black bears, Grizzly bears and Brown bears do go into a deep sleep during the winter months, known as torpor. Polar bears neither hibernate nor go into a topor, except females with cubs.
Hibernation is when animals “sleep” through the winter. During this sleep, the animals will not wake up when they hear a loud noise or even if they are moved or touched. While in torpor, the animal can wake up quickly and easily. During true hibernation, the animal’s body temperature drops to match the outside temperature, and their heart rate and rate of breathing slows down. During the bear’s dormant state or torpor, their heart rate is extremely low but their body temperature is relatively high, and they won’t eat or release bodily waste.
They would hibernate ina hole or a cave
It all depends on the species of the bear, and the climate they live in. Bears don't actually hibernate.

Hibernate ; and certain ones do use camouflage...like polar bears for example.
There is no specific answer. Bears hibernate if they are consuming more energy than feeding. If there is no food, they will hibernate. If food is available, they do not. Also take elevation into consideration. Bear had been spotted during deer season and even through out December and January.
they sleep, remember that they ate alot before hibernating.
