Gilbert's Potoroo, Potorous gilbertii, is a small member of the kangaroo family, specifically a rat-kangaroo (which is different to the kangaroo-rat of North America). Listed as critically endangered on several Australian and world listings, there are believed to be only about 30 to 40 individuals remaining in the wild.
They are found only in a small area in Australia's far southwestern corner.

Among the native Australian animals: The male platypus is possibly considered one of the mot dangerous mammals in Australia because it has a poisonous spur on its hind leg. This poison is enough to cause excruciating pain to humans, but would not kill them. On the other hand, the poison is sufficient to kill a small dog. The dingo, although not truly native, is also dangerous, and in some areas of Australia are becoming increasingly more aggressive as they become used to people. On Fraser Island, off the Queensland coast, dingo attacks on children are becoming more frequent - and of course, there is the notorious case of baby Azaria Chamberlain who was taken by a dingo at Ayers Rock in 1980. Among the non-native animals: Packs of feral, wild dogs (not dingoes, but mixed breeds) remain one of the most dangerous threats to people and animals. Wild boars, Brahman bulls and short-tempered camels also deserve to be given a wide berth!
If counting snakes as an animal, I would count the Australian Taipan in.
Before the 1950s it was rare if a person survived a bite. After 1950 they got working antivenom, but there are still fatalities due to this snake nowadays.
There are other snakes that causes more deaths, but their poison is not considered as bad as the Taipan one.
Australia also has some pretty nasty Spiders, not to mention scorpions that can get up to 12 cm long and more than 20 different snakes that live in water.
and a special jellyfish of which is normally fatal to humans
among other nice "things" one would want to see.
And I still want to go to Australia for a vacation. :-)
Australia's most venomous animal is the Box jellyfish, which accounted for 70 human deaths from 1883 to late 2005.
The most venomous fish is the stonefish.
The most venomous reptile is the Inland taipan.
The only venomous mammal is the male platypus, but its venom cannot kill a healthy adult - just cause agonising pain that often lingers for months. The box jelly fish. They are found on the coast of the Great Barrier Reef. The box jell fish has extremely powerful venom, and the stings are incredibly painful and often fatal. You will need to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
The most dangerous mammal to humans is another human. Humans kill more other humans than any other species on earth. If we eliminate humans, the hippopotamus is the most dangerous mammal on earth. It kills more people each year in Africa than any other mammal (excluding other humans, of course.)
Identifying the most hunted animal depends on whether you mean hunted by humans or by predatory animals. Even then, sources disagree. Various sources report the deer is the most hunted animal, but some say quail, ducks, rabbits, or mice are the most hunted animals.
people hunt all animals in Australia
Has to be the rat or possibly mouse?
Deer
The goddess Artemis hunted mainly forest animals. She probably hunted deer the most.
Thylacines had no animal predators, but rock paintings in Australia show that they were hunted by early humans.
The Inland Taipan (a snake) is Australia's most venomous land animal. Australia's most venomous creature is the Box jellyfish.
A deer is hunted by a cougar and foxes eat Koalas
Prey
In the US, deer by a (excuse us) long shot.)
No animals are not hunted by humans! .. ^
