A steed is a spirited horse mostly used as war horses. It is almost like a steed is better than the average horse. A steed is faster. It is like a more honorable name than just a horse.

Apparently, there are not used still. The Nazis pwned the Polish people on horses because horses are flesh and bone, like humans, so they're easy to shoot down, unlike the Nazi's 'Panzers'.
