Rhinos have thick skin that protects them from sharp grass. They have thick feet to absorb shock and their upper lip had adapted to help them grab food. They have a large nose to help them smell predators and they have adapted to become very aggressive.

White tigers are Bengal tigers with a rare mutation giving them another fur color. They have the same structural adaptations as Bengal tigers, and indeed all the other tiger sub-species.

Physical Adaptations of white tigers

  • It's hind legs are longer than the front which helps them leap forward distances of 10m
  • large padded feet to help them stalk their prey silently
  • claws are up to 10cm in length to grasp and hold onto prey
  • their tail is 3ft which helps them balance
  • tongue has rough texture to help strip feathers, fur and meat from their prey
  • their stripes are used to camouflage in the grass or with the trees
  • they have strong jaws and teeth which help them rip the meat from their prey
  • they have a strong sense of smell which helps them sniff out their prey
  • they are excellent swimmers which helps them catch their prey in case it tries to escape in the water
