The omega is the lowest ranking wolf in a pack. There is usually only one omega in a wolf pack (I think). The omega is picked on by other members of their pack. Omegas are important because the other wolves can pick on them to relieve stress and settle arguments, therefore reducing tenseness and grudges in the pack. Just a personal theory, but the omega might also keep the pups of the pack busy and happy by giving them attention so the mothers can have free time.
An omega werewolf is the lowest in rank of the pack. Considered the weakest of the pack.
Omega wolves are the lowest rank in the pack but because they have it, it doesn't mean they have an unhappy life. An omega wolf is treated equally in the pack except when the time to eat comes around the omega wolf is the last one to eat. The omega wolf's role is also to keep peace in the pack by starting play. The omega wolf doesn't take orders around by other wolves but they do submit to them.

Alpha: The Leader of the Pack. Omega: The lowest member of the Pack.
The structure of a wolf pack is alpha, beta, and omega. The omega wolf in the pack is the lowest of the order.

The Omega wolf.
"Alpha" and "Omega" are titles of social roles usually given to wolves, although they are occasionally extended to dogs, in a pack. "Alpha" wolves/dogs were once thought to be the leaders of a pack, but are now known to be the parents (a pack is usually made up of family members). "Omega" wolves/dogs are the "general citizenry". You can think of alphas as the family patriarch or president of the wolf/dog pack, and omegas as the children-and-siblings or citizens of the wolf/dog pack. Of course, if you are referring to the 2010 movie "Alpha and Omega" then your answer is: No. The main characters of "Alpha and Omega" are wolves.

Well, the Alpha is the leader of the group, for example lets talk wolves. The Alpha would be the leader of the pack, the omega would be the very last rank in the pack.
Wolves determine who will be the Alpha and the Omega by fighting to the death. The wolves communicate by using body motions to pick the strongest wolves that may sometimes result in fights. After the wolves "discuss" who the strongest wolves are the battles begins. As I said it is the fight to the death which will end as a bloody and very brutal war. The "winner" becomes the Alpha. Now you probably wonder what the Omega is. There is more than one Omega in the pack. An Omega is considered the "low life" of the pack. The Alpha is considered the leader of the pack and the Omega wolves are just "followers" in a hope to survive. The Alpha won't stop being Alpha until he/she dies. When the Alpha dies the cycle restarts.
Omega male wolves are male wolves that aren't treated equally as others in that pack. They usually do the dirty work that is required. Omegas can be male or female. Omegas usually get in their position because they have done something wrong to the pack.
