They don't like to live above ground, they live below ground, as it protects them from their worst enemy's, Foxes, domestic dogs and eagles (falcons), hunting above ground is the only time rabits come out of thier burrows, thats why rabbit will spend most of thier time out of site when kept as domesticated pets.
