nothing. Nosebleeds in gerbils are natural.
It either means they have a cold or their nose is infected. You should take your gerbil to the vet if you think it's sick. Don't pick up gerbils if you have a cold.
by keeping their nose close to the ground gerbils are omnivorous and scrounge around where ever they happens to be for their food. there are more then 110 different breeds of gerbil.
That is just gerbil snot. Theirs is red for some reason. What you're seeing is simply that your gerbil has a runny nose!
All I know is 1 reason.Maybe if you have 2 or more gerbils maybe one of the gerbils scratched the other one......My brothers gerbil did that to mine all the time.I hope I helped you! There are three main reasons:1. Allergies- your gerbil may be allergic to the bedding you use (especially if it is sawdust or man made. But this is if the whole nose is really red and sore.2. Washing- If it bleeds just a little bit, this is most likely caused by them scratching with their claws if they are sharp when they wash themselves.3. Fighting- If you see your gerbils fighting, they may be scratching each other, but only if it is obvious.Number two is most likely, so don't worry, your gerbil will almost certainly be fineHope it helped

No, don't use crittertrail cages with gerbils. Unlike hamsters, gerbils are chewing machines. They can ingest the plastic which can kill them, and by chewing the plastic they can escape. I would use a 10 gallon tank instead. Gerbils cost around $10 each from a pet shop.
I believe that gerbils are best at smell, and maybe hearing. Gerbils use smell to tell each other apart and what things are, as their eyesight is not so good.
I beleve that they use them to test medicine and human vaccinations.
Gerbils are not like dogs they dont pee to mark there territory instead gerbils use there scent gland witch it located right in the center of there tummy they will rub it agaisnt an area to mark there territory:)
Gerbils use squeaks that sound like 'bird tweets' as a sign of communication between other gerbils. If you have more than one gerbil, you would hear them squeaking at eachother. Its really cute though :)
They might nibble at it but you can use it to line the cage.
